Making a space come alive through interactive multi speaker sound installation.

Sound Art

Friday 16th. september. 16:30 – 17:20

From conceptualizing to implementation, I will talk about two very different scenarios that were tackled with the same general approach, using Sound Design to create the illusion that the world the audience is entering is real and alive because the sounds vary depending on people’s actions and movement within the space.

I will present my work on “Griffenholm”, a fairy tale forest in an open air museum and “Downfall” a multi-room escape room with an 80’s James Bond theme.
I will talk about my general approach to working with set designers and implementing hardware in the field, as well as my method for using the conventional surround tools within Pro Tools in conjunction with Qlab to create procedural soundscapes combined with linear sound scenes, triggered by sensors and mechanics. The goal always being to convince the audience that what they are experiencing is real, making the place they are visiting more believable and fun.
