In the course Music History, Theory and Aural Training, you will gain an understanding of the technological development of music and instruments, the aesthetic theories of various historical periods, and the formation of meaning around works and productions from approximately 1650 to 2017. We will examine a range of key works in European sound history, and you will be introduced to the listening method known as the Auditory Parameter Analysis System.
Parallel to the historical component, you will receive instruction in music theory/aural training and spectral ear training.
